Averill Park YOUTH BASKETBALL
From building stronger skills to gaining self-confidence, the AP Youth Basketball program is more than just the game. We are about building the love of the game in our community youth. We focus on youth basketball players' development of building core skills, while gaining lessons in teamwork and sportsmenship.
Averill Park Youth Basketball offers options for our community youth that fit their skill levels and interest in the game of basketball.
HOOP CAMP:
We offer our Community Hoop Camp for grades K-3rd Grade. Hoop Camp focuses on developing the basic skills in a fun and energetic atmosphere and to build the love of basketball for all involved. Hoop Camp meets for about 75 minutes on Saturday, beginning around the first week of November through February. Click HOOP CAMP tab for details.
TRAVEL BASKETBALL:
For those that want to take their passion for the game to the next level, Averill Park Youth Basketball participates in 2 travel leagues: Capital District Youth Basketball League and Troy CYO. Typically, the CDBL season runs from the last weekend of October through the end of February. In the CD Girl’s program there are 5 divisions of play: 4th Grade, Biddy B and Biddy A (5th and 6th Grade), Junior B and Junior A (7th and 8th Grade). For the Boy’s program there are 5 Divisions: 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade and 8th Grade. For CYO, the programs are 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 for Girls and Boys and runs from the middle of November to the end of February.
APYB also offers our Senior League for those in 9th through 12th grade. This is a great opportunity to continue to play the game they love while balancing those other resposibilities such as work.

This is an opportunity to take the next step and get involved in our great organization. We currently have 3 open position:
Equipment/Apparel Director
Assistent Hoop Camp Director
CYO/Senior League Director
If you still want to be involved with the league but maybe not in an assigned roll, we offer roles in our organization for you. Please reach out as our community volunteers are what makes this organization amazing.
COACHES/HOOP CAMP VOLUNTEERS
As I mentioned, volunteers are what makes this organization amazing. If you are interested in coaching (head coach, assistant coach) and/or volunteering to assist with our Hoop Camp. We will be holding a coaches information/clinic the week of August 21st. The exact day(s), times and locations are still being worked out. We also will be holding a Hoop Camp clinic for our volunteers sometime in October before Hoop Camp begins.
